Packed with lots of advanced features and user-friendly settings, the Canon EOS 40D is a great option for film based SLR user or those looking to upgrade their DSLRs. With a 10.1 megapixels CMOS sensor, the 40D reproduces exceptionally accurate colour with minimal noise thanks to its 14-bits image processing and redesigned pixels on its sensor. The EOS Integrated Cleaning System is also available in the 40D, making sure that your sensor stays speckle free.

With a new 9-point cross-type AF system, all nine AF points can achieve focus on both horizontal and vertical planes. In addition, the new dedicated AF Start (AF-ON) button allows you to auto focus easily with your thumb. The 3.0-inch LCD provides a comfortable sized platform to review your shots and with the Live View mode switched on, an easy way to compose your shots whether at an awkward angle or at a distance via remote.

High performance thanks to the DIGIC III engine is also apparent. The 40D is capable of a burst rate of 6.5 frames per second and you can fire away continuously for 75 large JPEGs or 17 shots in RAW format. Great ease of use is guaranteed with three sets of user-defined settings at a press of a button and 24 custom functions. You will also benefit from the new My Menu tab to access frequently used settings.
